Studies on Acrylic Fiber

open access: yesKobunshi Kagaku, 1958

Toward a Unified Mechanistic Understanding of Polymer Electrolytes for Advanced Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes (PEs) are often indiscriminately grouped as “solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs)”, despite fundamental differences in their ion‐transport mechanisms. This Perspective establishes a mechanism‐based framework that distinguishes gel, quasi‐solid, and all‐solid polymer electrolytes based on their dominant ion‐transport pathways.

Self-Emulsion Polymerization of Baylis–Hillman-Derived α-Hydroxymethyl-Substituted Acrylates

open access: yes, 2015
Amphiphilic alkyl α-hydroxymethyl acrylates can be polymerized via self-emulsion polymerization (i.e., without surfactants) under conventional radical and reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization conditions.

High Center‐of‐Mass, Multi‐Legged Soft Robots Powered by Geometrically Encoded Liquid Crystal Elastomer Arc Appendages

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by the octopus and the golden wheel spider, soft robots with liquid crystal elastomer arc fibers as appendages are fabricated to transcend surface constraints through an elevated center of mass and minimal contact footprints. By leveraging curvature‐encoded deformation‐recovery cycles, these robots exhibit contractile, torsional, and flexural ...

Sticky Glass - Structural bonded joints with acrylates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
p. 2982-2989UV and light curing acrylates present a whole host of possibilities for designing glass construction with adhesively bonded joints. Their clear and colourless appearance produces a transparent and lightweight construction. Short curing times

Synthesis and polymerization of bio-based acrylates: a review

open access: yes, 2020
International audienceAcrylates and polyacrylates have been produced massively due to their interesting applications like Plexiglas. However, the contemporary issues of fossil depletion associated with climate change have raised serious concerns.

Cell Adhesion by Design: Engineering Tissue Culture Scaffolds With Adhesion Cues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In scaffold‐based tissue engineering, the matrix should provide adequate adhesion cues for cell attachment, spreading, and function. Given the multitude of adhesion receptors and the diversity of scaffolds, there are many approaches to render scaffolds adhesive, even though they are not all equivalent.

3D Printing of Stretchable, Compressible and Conductive Porous Polyurethane for Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printable porous dopamine‐polyurethane acrylate elastomer results in conductive, stretchable, and compressible structures that can be metallized in situ through catechol‐mediated silver reduction. The resulting material function as both compliant soft robot with a and strain sensors without complex assemblies, enabling fully 3D‐printed soft ...
