Correlations between odour activity and the structural modifications of acrylates
S.5545-5554Acrylates (acrylic esters) are versatile monomers that are widely used in polymer formulations because of their highly reactive a,v-unsaturated carboxyl structure.

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

Ficini Reaction with Acrylates for the Stereoselective Synthesis of Aminocyclobutanes
The first Ficini reaction between ynamides and acrylates is reported herein. The reaction is catalyzed by B(C6F5)3 acting as a Lewis acid and is giving access to stable tri-substituted aminocyclobutenes in high yield.

Packed hydrogel microfiber (PHM) materials consist of flexible and high aspect ratio hydrogel components that, as a bulk material, are simultaneously mechanically robust and dynamic. Cells cultured in or on PHM scaffolds can be influenced by topographical cues or interact with a dynamic environment that permits cell spreading and multicellular ...

Hydroxy Functional Acrylates: Enzymatic Synthesis and Free Radical Polymerization
Hydroxy functional acrylates were prepared via transacylation of methyl acrylate with 1,2,6-hexanetriol catalyzed by Candida antarctica lipase B. Under the applied reaction conditions, 70% of the substrate was converted into hydroxy functional acrylates.

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

A convenient synthesis of λ-oxo-acrylates
Ethyl 2,4-dioxoalkanoates react chemoselectively with pyrrolidine acetate at the more electrophilic C-2 carbonyl, producing enaminone esters which on reduction with NaCNBH4 followed by pyrrolidine elimination, were transformed into γ-oxo-acrylates ...

Diffusion of drugs in hydrogels based on (meth)acrylates, poly(alkylene glycol) (meth)acrylates and itaconic acid [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to propose equations for the diffusion of drugs for investigated drug/hydrogel systems using the parameters affecting the transport of drug through poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate/itaconic acid) (P(HEMA/IA)), poly(2 ...

The direct acrylation of soybean oil was investigated by the activation of soybean oil’s (SO’s) internal fatty unsaturation with acidic catalysts. The effect of the catalyst and the reactant ratio with respect to the unsaturation and reaction time on the direct acrylation process were explored.
