Toughening epoxy resins with solid acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber

Polymer International, 2000
The feasibility of using solid acrylonitrile–butadiene rubbers (NBR) with 19 and 33% w/w acrylonitrile to toughen diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) epoxy resins has been investigated. Thermal analysis experiments revealed a two-phase morphology of these rubber-modified epoxies.

Study on the Properties of Blends between Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Rubber and Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene or Poly(Styrene-co-Acrylonitrile)

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) or nitrile rubber is an unsaturated copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile. NBR has been widely used for fuel hoses, seals and gaskets due to its excellent oil and fuel resistance. Aiming to develop NBR which has resistance to oxygenated solvent, NBR with acrylonitrile content of 34 wt%, was blended with ...

Ground rubber/acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene composites

Composites Science and Technology, 2007
Abstract A range of ground rubber (GR)/acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) composites were developed that contained untreated and various treated rubber particles. The tensile properties of the composite materials were significantly improved over the untreated GR/ABS sample either by a two-step treatment process involving surface chlorination of ...

ACRYLONITRILE–BUTADIENE RUBBER STABILIZED BY METHACRYLAMIDES AS ANTIOXIDANTS

Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2000
Methacryloyl chloride was reacted with 4-amino and 4-thiophenols to provide the corresponding methacrylamides. These compounds were incorporated in NBR mixes to be evaluated as antioxidants for NBR oil-seal products in comparison with the industrial antioxidant phenyl-B-naphthylamine (PBN).

Self-Inhibition in the Oxidation of Butadiene-Acrylonitrile Rubbers

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1953
Abstract Because of their valuable technical properties, copolymers of butadiene and acrylonitrile rubbers have found wide use in the rubber industry in the production of oil-resistant and heat-resistant products. Investigations have established that, during the copolymerization of butadiene with acrylonitrile, the latter enters principally at ...

Investigation of electrically conductive acrylonitrile‐butadiene rubber

Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, 2007
Abstract Electrically conductive acrylonitrile‐butadiene rubbers (NBRs) containing carbon black (CB) as conductive filler were prepared in order to investigate their electrical and mechanical properties. The effects of conductive CB loading, temperature, acrylonitrile content, crosslinking density of vulcanizates, and plasticizer on ...

Study properties of blends between acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)

In this study, the influences of alcohol and gasoline on mechanical and physical properties of blends between acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) orpoly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN), and hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR) were investigated.
