Properties of silica-filled styrene-butadiene rubber compounds containing acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber: The influence of the acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber type

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2002
AbstractBecause silica has strong filler‐filler interactions and adsorbs polar materials, a silica‐filled rubber compound exhibits poor dispersion of the filler and poor cure characteristics in comparison with those of a carbon black‐filled rubber compound.

Studies on Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber/Reclaimed Rubber Blends

Journal of Elastomers and Plastics, 2002
Cure characteristics and mechanical properties of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber/reclaimed rubber blends were studied. Minimum torque, (maximum -minimum) torque, scorch time, cure time and cure rate decreased in presence of reclaimed rubber. Tensile strength, elongation at break and compression set increased with increase in reclaim content. Resilience

Homogeneous Styrene Butadiene/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber Blends

Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2006
The graft copolymerization of acrylonitrile (AN) onto butadiene rubber (BR) was carried out in toluene at 80°C, using dibenzoyl-peroxide (BPO) as initiator. The synthesized poly acrylonitrile-grafted-butadiene rubber (AN-g-BR) was characterized by N% elemental analysis and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy.

Buffing dust as a filler of carboxylated butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber and butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2008
Buffing dust from chrome tanned leather is one of the difficult tannery wastes to manage. It is also hazardous to both human health and the environment. The scientific literature rarely reports studies on dust management, especially on its utilization as a filler for elastomers.
