Summary The bent, heteropolar diatom alga Actinella mirabilis being characteristic in its morphology lives settled in the brooks of Amazony rain forests. Its dropped out specimens can be found in the larger streams of Amazony. Up-today unknown parts of this alga could be discovered by SEM-photogramms (poroide rows, border thorns, structure of raphe).
