AaSIZ1-Mediated SUMOylation of AaMYB31 Positively Regulates Freezing Tolerance in Actinidia arguta. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Biotechnol J
ABSTRACT Several studies revealed that wax accumulation enhances plant tolerance to cold stress. However, the molecular regulation mechanism of wax synthesis under cold stress is still unclear in Actinidia arguta, a hardy kiwifruit species. Here, we found that cold stress significantly induces wax accumulation in Actinidia arguta leaves, which is ...

Terpenoids from Kiwi endophytic fungus Bipolaris sp. and their antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2022
A chemical investigation on the kiwi endophytic fungus Bipolaris sp. Resulted in the isolation of eight new terpenoids (1–8) and five known analogues (9–13). Compounds 1–5 are novel sativene sesquiterpenoids containing three additional skeletal carbons, while compounds 4 and 5 are rare dimers.

Model of the effects of a range of shelter orientations on shading patterns in kiwifruit (Actinidia sp.) blocks [PDF]

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticultural Science, 2004
Abstract Although shelterbelts in kiwifruit (Actinidia sp.) orchards reduce the negative effects of wind, they reduce the direct sunlight received. The shadow lengths of shelters 10 m taller than the kiwifruit canopy in theoretical blocks (150 × 50 m) orientated in 10 ...

Genome-wide identification and expression profiling analysis of sucrose synthase (SUS) and sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) genes family in Actinidia chinensis and A. eriantha

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2022
AbstractSucrose synthase (SUS) is a common sugar-base transfer enzyme in plants, and sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) is one of the major enzymes in higher plants that regulates sucrose synthesis. However, information of the SPS and SUS gene families in Actinidia, as well as their evolutionary and functional properties, is limited. According to the SPS
