Plant Systematics and Evolution, 1997The genetic origin of kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa var.deliciosa) was studied using phylogenetic analysis of DNA sequences derived from the polygalacturonase gene. Results indicate that hexaploid kiwifruit had an allopolyploid origin with the diploidA.
