Consistent root microbiomes across contrasting habitats in a wild perennial vine

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Communities of bacteria and fungi associated with the roots are similar across diverse habitats in a wild plant. Abstract While we are beginning to understand that the plant microbiome is important for plant health, we still lack information about how plant microbiomes are shaped across environments and how they influence plant performance, in ...

Skin Commensal Microbiota Does Not Influence the Clinical Course of Dermatophyte Infection in Persian Cats

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, EarlyView.
Dermatophytes can be isolated from both symptomatic and asymptomatic cats, yet the role of skin commensals in modulating disease expression remains unclear. This study investigates whether microbial skin communities influence the clinical presentation (symptomatic or asymptomatic) of dermatophyte infection in Persian cats.

Clinical Efficacy of Probiotic‐Based Ear Drops Containing Lactobacilli in Canine Erythroceruminous Otitis Externa: An Open Label, Multicentre Study

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, EarlyView.
Background: Otitis externa (OE) represents a common clinical problem in dogs. Allergic dogs exhibit reduced diversity of the otic microbiota, and inflammation‐induced changes in the ear canal microenvironment result in a further decline in microbial biodiversity.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid‐Enriched Fermented Dairy Modulates Microbiota and Metabolites to Alleviate MASLD: Insights From Multi‐Omics and Causal Mediation Analysis

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 5, September 2026.
In a 120‐day randomized trial, CLA‐enriched fermented dairy remodeled the gut microbiota and rewired host metabolic pathways in patients with MASLD. These changes were accompanied by reductions in ALT, total cholesterol, creatinine, and hs‐CRP, supporting a microbiota‐mediated dietary strategy for metabolic and liver health.

The Six Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine in MASLD: An Evidence‐Based Guide

open access: yesLiver International Communications, Volume 7, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide and is projected to affect more than 40% of adults by 2050. Although pharmacologic therapies are emerging, lifestyle modification remains the foundation of management.
