Chemical metabolome assay by high‐resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometry and assessment of associated antitumoral activity of Actinocephalus divaricatus

Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, 2018
Rationale Actinocephalus divaricatus (Eriocaulaceae) is an important source of income for rural communities as it is sold as an ornamental plant. To date, no investigation has been conducted concerning the chemical composition and biological studies of the aerial ...

Actinocephalus acanthaclisis n. sp., Eugrgarine parasite des larves d'Acanthaclisis (Nvropt. Myrmeleonidae)

Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde Parasitology Research, 1978

Morphology and environment: geographic distribution, ecological disjunction, and morphological variation in Actinocephalus polyanthus (Bong.) Sano (Eriocaulaceae)

Feddes Repertorium, 2008
AbstractMost Brazilian Eriocaulaceae have highly restricted geographic distributions. Actinocephalus polyanthus (Bong.) Sano is one of the few widely distributed species; furthermore this distribution includes an interesting ecological disjunction.

Actinocephalus (Körn.) Sano (Paepalanthus sect. Actinocephalus), a new genus of Eriocaulaceae, and other taxonomic and nomenclatural changes involving Paepalanthus Mart.

TAXON, 2004
AbstractPaepalanthus Mart., the largest genus of Eriocaulaceae, has been shown to be polyphyletic by all the phylogenetic analyses performed so far in the family. After intensive and extensive field work and an analysis of various characters in a recent revision of Paepalanthus section Actinocephalus (Körn.) Ruhland, I encountered consistent evidence ...

ACTINOCEPHALUSSP., A PROTOZOAN (EUGREGARINIDA: ACTINOCEPHALIDAE) ASSOCIATED WITH JUNE BEETLES,PHYLLOPHAGAHARRIS (COLEOPTERA: SCARABAEIDAE)

The Canadian Entomologist, 1992
AbstractActinocephalussp., a eugregarine protozoan, is reported from June beetles,PhyllophagaHarris, in southern Quebec. It is the first record of a protozoan infecting scarab beetles in Canada. The gregarine was found in 4.52% of the 16 930Phyllophagagrubs collected from 45 localities during a 3-year study.

Actinocephalus carrilynnae N. Sp. (Apicomplexa: Eugregarinorida) from the Blue Damselfly, Enallagma civile (Hagen)

The Journal of Protozoology, 1990
ABSTRACT. Actinocephalus carrilynnae, a new species of actinocephalid gregarine, is described from the blue damselfly, Enallagma civile. Trophozoites are unpaired, lying between the host's gut epithelium and peritrophic membrane, and attain a maximum length of at least 1,700 μm. Protomerites are subspherical.

Nesting of ants (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) in dead post-reproductive plants of Actinocephalus polyanthus (Eriocaulaceae), a herb of coastal dunes in southern Brazil

Insectes Sociaux, 2011
Actinocephalus polyanthus is a shrubby plant of the coastal dunes in southern Brazil which dies after a single reproductive event. When dry, the plant becomes hollow and can be used for the nesting of ants. From a total of 67 post-reproductive plants surveyed, we observed 53 nests containing a total of eight ant species.
