A Covariant Approach to Noncommutative M5-branes [PDF]
We briefly review how to discuss noncommutative (NC) M5-branes and intersecting NC M5-branes from kappa-invariance of an open supermembrane action with constant three-form fluxes. The kappa-invariance gives rise to possible Dirichlet brane configurations.

Impact of flexible noise control (FNC) image processing parameters on portable chest radiography
Abstract There is a lack of understanding in the performance of flexible noise control (FNC) processing, which is used in digital radiography on a scanner vendor and has four parameters each involving multiple options. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of FNC on portable chest imaging. An anthropomorphic chest phantom was imaged using

A Simple Approach to Teach Newton’s Third Law
The results of previous researches indicated that there were problems with the mental model and students’ conceptual understanding of the action-reaction law (Newton’s third law, NTL).

Instanton Effects in Hadron Spectroscopy Revisited [PDF]
We use an optimised clover action to study spectroscopy on an instanton ensemble reconstructed from smoothed Monte Carlo configurations. Due to the better chirality of the clover action, the artificial configurations show a marked difference from the ...

Abstract Purpose The aim of this work was to evaluate the SunCHECK PerFRACTION, the software for in vivo monitoring using EPID images. Materials/Methods First, the PerFRACTION ability to detect errors was investigated simulating two situations: (1) variation of LINAC output and (2) variation of the phantom thickness.

Heavy Fermion Quantum Criticality
During the last few years, investigations of Rare-Earth materials have made clear that not only the heavy fermion phase in these systems provides interesting physics, but the quantum criticality where such a phase dies exhibits novel phase transition ...

Some Computations with Seiberg-Witten Invariant Actions [PDF]
We show, with a 2-dimensional example, that the low energy effective action which describes the physics of a single D-brane is compatible with T-duality whenever the corresponding U(N) non-abelian action is form-invariant under the non-commutative ...
