Instantaneous activation energy of alkali activated materials
Alkali activated materials (AAM) are generally cured at high temperatures to compensate for the low reaction rate. Higher temperature accelerates the reaction of AAM as in cement-based materials and this effect is generally predicted using Arrhenius ...

Post-harvesting of Solanum paniculatum L. leaves. Part I: Drying kinetics [PDF]
Solanum paniculatum L. (jurubeba) is among the numerous medicinal plants used by the Brazilian population, and the use of its leaves is quite popular, in the form of tea, as a remedy against hangovers after excessive consumption of alcohol and food ...

Activation Energies and Beyond [PDF]
Recent advances in the calculation and interpretation of the activation energy for a dynamical process are described. Specifically, new approaches that apply the fluctuation theory of statistical mechanics to dynamics enable the direct determination of the activation energy for an arbitrary dynamical time scale from simulations at a single temperature.

From free-energy profiles to activation free energies
Given a chemical reaction going from reactant (R) to the product (P) on a potential energy surface (PES) and a collective variable (CV) discriminating between R and P, we define the free-energy profile (FEP) as the logarithm of the marginal Boltzmann distribution of the CV. This FEP is not a true free energy. Nevertheless, it is common to treat the FEP
