Gradient Flows and Geometric Active Contour Models

open access: yes, 1994
In this note, we analyze the geometric active contour models proposed in [10, 31] from a curve evolution point of view and propose some modifications based on gradient flows relative to certain new metrics.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Active contour models in medical image segmentation

open access: yes, 2000
Active contour models are very suitable to image segmentation. A contour is a set of point which has an energy function. This energy function comes from both internal and external sources. This paper includes internal and external energy definition and a

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

A Dual Active Contour for

open access: yes, 1996
Introduction Active contours (snakes) are a sophisticated approach to contour extraction in image interpretation. They challenge the widely held view that low-level vision tasks such as edge detection are 'bottom-up' processes; features are
