The West Qinling Belt (WQB) situated in the central China continent, is an enormous structure on the crustal scale, which is not controlled only by the Tethyan tectonic domain but is more complex, involving additional tectonic domains.

A Setup for Active Fault Diagnosis [PDF]
A setup for active fault diagnosis (AFD) of parametric faults in dynamic systems is formulated in this note. It is shown that it is possible to use the same setup for both open loop systems, closed-loop systems based on a nominal feedback controller as well as for closed-loop systems based on a reconfigured feedback controller.

Active fault diagnosis by controller modification [PDF]
Two active fault diagnosis methods for additive or parametric faults are proposed. Both methods are based on controller reconfiguration rather than on requiring an exogenous excitation signal, as it is otherwise common in active fault diagnosis. For the first method, it is assumed that the system considered is controlled by an observer-based controller.

Geomorphic signal of active faulting at the northern edge of Lut Block. Insights on the kinematic scenario of Central Iran [PDF]
Recent works documented Neogene to Quaternary dextral strike-slip tectonics along the Kuh-e-Sarhangi and Kuh-e-Faghan intraplate strike-slip faults at the northern edge of the Lut Block of Central Iran, previously thought to be dominated by sinistral ...

Clustered activity of Intraplate Faults: the silent and slow active faults of southern Germany
Silent and slow faults pose a particularly fascinating challenge in the field of active tectonic studies, especially in regions characterized as Stable Continental Regions (SCR) or Active Intraplate Regions (AIR), such as Central Europe. The term "silent faults" encompasses a broad spectrum of meanings, with "silent" denoting either the absence of ...

Robust fault tolerant control framework using uncertain Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models [PDF]
This chapter is concerned with the introduction of a fault tolerant control (FTC) framework using uncertain Takagi-Sugeno (FS) fuzzy models. Depending on how much information is available about the fault, the framework gives rise to passive FTC, active

Model-based Fault Injection Experiments for the Safety Analysis of Exoskeleton System [PDF]
Model-based fault injection methods are widely used for the evaluation of fault tolerance in safety-critical control systems. In this paper, we introduce a new model-based fault injection method implemented as a highlycustomizable Simulink block called FIBlock.

History of vertical displacement of Kerepehi Fault at Kopouatai bog, Hauraki Lowlands, New Zealand, since c. 10 700 years ago [PDF]
Thirteen tephra layers interbedded with peat, and a basal peathorizon, in four pairs of cores provide radiocarbon-dated reference horizons that indicate vertical displacement on the Kerepehi Fault at Kopouatai bog, Hauraki Lowlands. Progressive offset of

Korea has been recognized as an earthquake-safe zone, but over recent decades, several earthquakes, at a medium scale or higher, have occurred in succession in and around the major fault zones, hence there is a need for studying active faults to mitigate
