Electronic Tunability and Cancellation of Serial Losses in Wire Coils

open access: yesSensors, 2022
This work presents a novel methodology to adjust the inductance of real coils (electronically) and to cancel out serial losses (up to tens or even hundreds of Ohms in practice) electronically.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Design and control of shunt active power filter for power quality improvement of utility powered brushless DC motor drives

open access: yesAutomatika, 2020
The presence of nonlinear loads like brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives in the distribution system leads to poor power quality (PQ) indices like low power factor, high total harmonic distortion and creates electromagnetic interference.

A comparative study of methods for estimating virtual flux at the point of common coupling in grid connected voltage source converters with LCL filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Grid connected Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) with LCL filters usually have voltage measurements at the filter capacitors, while it can be important to control the active or reactive power injection at the grid-side of the LCL filter, for instance at a

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Voltage space vector‘s computation for current control in three phase converters

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2012
This work presents two current loop techniques, for three phase voltage source converters (VSC) used as controlled rectifiers (CR) operating at unity power factor.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Operational Trans-Resistance Amplifier Based Tunable Wave Active Filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, Operational Trans-Resistance Amplifier (OTRA) based wave active filter structures are presented. They are flexible and modular, making them suitable to implement higher order filters.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
