Active Magnetic Bearing Rotor Model Updating Using Resonance and MAC Error
Modern control techniques can improve the performance and robustness of a rotor active magnetic bearing (AMB) system. Since those control methods usually rely on system models, it is important to obtain a precise rotor AMB analytical model.

Iron mineralogy of a Hawaiian palagonitic soil with Mars-like spectral and magnetic properties [PDF]
Visible and near-IR spectral data for some palagonitic soils from Mauna Kea, Hawaii, are similar to corresponding spectral data for Mars. It is important to understand the composition, distribution, and mineralogy of the ferric-bearing phases for the ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Dynamic characteristics of triaxial active control magnetic bearing with asymmetric structure
Supporting forces of magnetic bearings are lower than those of mechanical bearings. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a new three-axis active control magnetic bearing (3-axis AMB) with an asymmetric structure where its rotor is ...

Is flux rope a necessary condition for the progenitor of coronal mass ejections?
A magnetic flux rope structure is believed to exist in most coronal mass ejections (CMEs). However, it has been long debated whether the flux rope exists before eruption or is formed during eruption via magnetic reconnection.

Slight Truncation Changes in Iron Oxide Nanocubes Strongly Affect Their Magnetic Properties
Subtle variations in nanoparticle morphology can lead to significant changes in functional properties. An automated shape‐fitting method captures minor differences in corner truncation between iron oxide nanocubes of similar sizes synthesized under identical conditions, revealing pronounced disparities in their magnetic and hyperthermia behavior ...
