Matrix Metalloproteinase Activity During Methamphetamine Cued Relapse

Addiction Biology, 2022
AbstractRelapse to drug seeking involves transient synaptic remodeling that occurs in response to drug associated cues. This remodeling includes activation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) to initiate catalytic signaling in the extracellular matrix (ECM) in the nucleus accumbens core (NAcore).

Enzymatic activity in the activated-sludge floc matrix

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 1995
The enzymatic activity of activated sludge was investigated with special emphasis on the localization of the enzymes in the sludge floc matrix. Activated sludge from an advanced activated-sludge treatment plant, performing biological N and P removal, was used. An enzymatic fingerprint was established using a panel of six different enzymes.

Woven active-matrix display

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2012
In this paper, we present a woven textile display enabled by replacing standard textile threads with flexible stripes. Each stripe contains amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide thin-film transistors (TFTs) that actuate light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the same stripe.

Matrix Metalloproteinases and Leukocyte Activation

2017
As their name implies, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are thought to degrade extracellular matrix proteins, a function that is indeed performed by some members. However, regardless of their cell source, matrix degradation is not the only function of these enzymes.

Angiogenic Activity of Dentin Matrix Components

Journal of Endodontics, 2011
Angiogenesis is key to both the development and regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex. We hypothesized that proangiogenic signaling molecules sequestered in dentin matrix can be solubilised to induce angiogenic events.Matrix components were extracted from powdered sound human dentin with EDTA and their dose-dependent (0.0001-5 mg/mL) effects examined ...

Mechanisms for pro matrix metalloproteinase activation

APMIS, 1999
The activation of pro matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) by sequential proteolysis of the propeptide blocking the active site cleft is regarded as one of the key levels of regulation of these proteinases. Potential physiological mechanisms including cell‐associated plasmin generation by urokinase‐like plasminogen activator, or the action of cell surface ...

Matrix Converter-Based Active Distribution Transformer

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2016
This paper proposes a matrix converter-based active distribution transformer (MC-ADT) with enhanced control functionalities to be used in smart grids (SG). The proposed MC-ADT uses a matrix converter (MC) connected to a transformer inserted in series with the grid, and allows: 1) real-time voltage regulation of the low-voltage side of the MC-ADT, based

Active Multivariate Matrix Completion

2018
Matrix completion has been rapidly grown interested in areas of engineering and applied science. however, most of applications are aim at single variate matrix. In fact, majority applications datasets express in form of multivariate matrix, developing multivariate matrix application is very necessary.

Thyroid hormone induces myocardial matrix degradation by activating matrix metalloproteinase-1

Matrix Biology, 2007
Hyperthyroid patients develop left ventricular hypertrophy associated with alterations of several cardiac parameters such as heart rate, cardiac output, cardiac contraction and hemodynamic overload leading to cardiac complications. Although cardiac hypertrophy and contractile abnormality occur, interstitial fibrosis in the heart usually does not take ...

Matrix Metalloproteinases and Cellular Fibrinolytic Activity

Biochemistry (Moscow), 2002
Several molecular interactions between the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) and the plasminogen/plasmin (fibrinolytic) system may affect cellular fibrinolysis. MMP-3 (stromelysin-1) specifically hydrolyzes urokinase (u-PA), yielding a 17 kD NH2-terminal fragment containing the functionally intact receptor (u-PAR)-binding sequence and a 32 kD COOH ...
