Active noise control exploits the long wavelengths associated with low frequency sound. It works on the principle of destructive interference between the sound fields generated by the original primary sound source and that due to other secondary sources, acoustic outputs of which can be controlled.

Active Shielding and Control of Noise
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2001Summary: We present a mathematical framework for the active control of time-harmonic acoustic disturbances. Unlike many existing methodologies, our approach provides for the exact volumetric cancellation of unwanted noise in a given predetermined region of space while leaving unaltered those components of the total acoustic field that are deemed ...

Active noise control for muffler
2017 Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC), 2017This paper presents an active noise control (ANC) system for muffler. An ANC muffler is built to verify the performance and the experiment is conducted in real-time. Experiment results compare three narrowband ANC methods: direct, parallel and direct/parallel forms; with synthesized engine noises for fixed and changing engine speed.

Active noise control for headrests
2015 Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA), 2015This paper presents the active noise control (ANC) systems for creating quiet zone to cover the users' ears in headrests. The two-input two-output (TITO) ANC headrest system based on the multiple-channel adaptive feedback filtered-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm is proposed.

Active noise control systems for controlling outdoor environmental noise
1999 European Control Conference (ECC), 1999A unique theory for generating electronically controlled acoustic shadows for environmental noise reduction was reported in [1]. The theory has been extended to complex high frequency sound from large non-compact sources [2] and implemented into hardware [3]. These studies show that deep acoustic shadows are possible.

Active Noise Control: A Review of the Field
AIHAJ, 1992Active noise control (ANC) is the application of the principle of the superposition of waves to noise attenuation problems. Much progress has been made toward applying ANC to narrow-band, low-frequency noise in confined spaces. During this same period, the application of ANC to broad-band noise or noise in three-dimensional spaces has seen little ...

Algorithms for Active Noise Control
2009The previous regulations about acoustics in buildings ruled only isolation, forgetting other important subjects. The new code in Spain, specifically the DB-HR document, also include the regulations of excessive noise reverberating that produces and causes discomfort in many cases non-speech intelligibility, this circumstance is crucial in certain areas.

Active Control of Broadband Noise
2006 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2006This paper investigates the performance of active control for broadband disturbance using maximum pressure minimization. The theory and simulations of active control using single-channel, two-channel and three-channel systems are presented. Constrained minimisation of the pressure is introduced, to achieve control over the pressure in both frequency ...

ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL OF AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM NOISE
Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Computational Methods in Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering (COMPDYN 2015), 2023A HVAC (Heat Ventilation Air Condition) system of the passenger seat in the autonomous bus is used for heating and cooling of the seat. The compressor of the HVAC system generates the operating noise, and the noise makes passengers annoyance. The frequency spectrum of the compressor noise composes of operating frequency and its harmonics components ...
