Identification of inhibitors of the Salmonella FraB deglycase, a drug target

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screen was used to identify inhibitors of Salmonella FraB, a drug target. Characterization of top hits (identified after an additional counter screen) revealed that some triazolidines, thiadiazolidines, and triazolothiadiazoles are mixed‐type inhibitors of FraB.

Multi-Scale CNN Based Garbage Detection of Airborne Hyperspectral Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Garbage detection is important for environmental monitoring in large areas. However, the manual patrol is time-consuming and labor-intensive. This paper proposes a method for monitoring garbage distribution in large areas with airborne hyperspectral data.

Characterisation of the role played by ELMO1, GPR141 and the intergenic polymorphism rs918980 in Fuchs' dystrophy in the Indian population

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.

Development of large aperture elements for active and adaptive optics

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Large-aperture elements for laser active and adaptive optics are investigated in collaboration within IOP AcSci CR, FEng CTU and 5M. A bimorph deformable mirror for high-power lasers based on a lightweight structure with a composite core is currently ...

All-optical nonlinear activation function based on stimulated Brillouin scattering [PDF]

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2025
Photonic neural networks have demonstrated their potential over the past decades, but have not yet reached the full extent of their capabilities. One reason for this lies in an essential component - the nonlinear activation function, which ensures that the neural network can perform the required arbitrary nonlinear transformation.

Alkane biosynthesis gene expression and its increased production in recombinant cyanobacteria

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The transcription and mRNA structures of the alkane biosynthesis genes ado/aar were analysed in the representative cyanobacteria PCC 6803 and SK1‐2‐1, which produce C17H36 and C15H32, respectively. PCC 6803 transconjugants carrying these genes showed a 1.8‐ to 2.3‐fold increase in C17H36 production.

Establishment and biological characterization of radioresistant colorectal cancer cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under ionizing radiation exposure, radiation‐sensitive cancer cells exhibit oxidative stress and DNA damage, while radiation‐resistant cancer cells exhibit strong antioxidant properties and DNA damage repair. Radiotherapy resistance is a major cause of recurrence and metastasis in colorectal cancer (CRC).

Correction of wavefront rotation between interferometer and shack-hartmann sensor using bending modes

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2020
In some active optics system, the influence function, which is the surface deformation ability of an actuator, is measured by directly detecting the mirror surface using an interferometer and the surface correction of the primary mirror is done using the

Dual-wavelength active optical clock [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We experimentally realize the dual-wavelength active optical clock for the first time. As the Cs cell temperature is kept between 118 $^{\circ }C$ and 144 $^{\circ }C$, both the 1359 nm and the 1470 nm stimulated emission output of Cs four-level active optical clock are detected.
