Harmonic compensation for three-phase adjustable speed drives using active power line conditioner

2000 Power Engineering Society Summer Meeting (Cat. No.00CH37134), 2002
This paper reports the development of an active power line conditioner for high power nonlinear loads such as industrial adjustable speed drives (ASDs). This work is motivated by the fact that the ability of a static power converter to perform effectively as a shunt active filter is limited by the power and the frequency distribution of the harmonics ...

Formation of high power microwave pulses with adjustable parameters in active X-band RF compression systems

2015 16th International Conference of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices, 2015
The work presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the formation of microwave pulses with the adjustable power, duration, repetition rate and the envelope form during energy output from the cavity by controlled transformation of the oscillation mode at the waveguide stub coupling aperture.

Performance of automatic gain adjustment in shunt active filters for harmonic damping throughout power distribution systems

2001 IEEE 32nd Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37230), 2002
This paper discusses automatic gain adjustment in fully-digital-controlled shunt active filters. This is the first step in cooperative control of the active filters based on voltage detection for harmonic damping throughout power distribution systems.

Active Thermal Control-Based Anticondensation Strategy in Paralleled Wind Power Converters by Adjusting Reactive Circulating Current

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2018
Offshore wind power converters are usually installed in a closed cabinet equipped with water cooling to meet the moisture and salt spray prevention requirements. When the system faces a sudden dip in the wind speed and is subject to a drastic decline in the output power level, the temperatures of the power semiconductors and cooling water drop ...

Asynchronous Motor's Maximum-Efficiency Control Considering Variable Iron Loss Equivalent Resistance by Adjusting the Ratio of Active Power to Reactive Power

2010 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2010
A novel asynchronous motor maximum-efficiency control strategy by adjusting the ratio of the motor's active power to its reactive power is investigated. The study shows that once the motor's desired speed is given, the motor will be running at the maximum efficiency by making the ratio of active power to reactive power reasonable, which can be adjusted

Power Op-Amp Based Active Filter Design with Self Adjustable Gain Control by Neural Networks for EMI Noise Problem

2005
An induction motor control system fed by an AC/DC rectifier and a DC/AC inverter group is a nonlinear and EMI generating load causes harmonic distortions and EMI noise effects in power control systems. In this paper, a simulation model is designed for the control circuit and the harmonic effects of the nonlinear load are investigated using FFT analyses.
