Extensional rheology of active suspensions
Physical Review E, 2010A simple model is presented for the effective extensional rheology of a dilute suspension of active particles, such as self-propelled microswimmers, extending previous classical studies on suspensions of passive rodlike particles. Neglecting particle-particle hydrodynamic interactions, we characterize the configuration of the suspension by an ...

The synthesis method is employed for the design of servo-suspensions of the electro-hydraulic type. Two alternative arrangements are considered in which the hydraulic actuators and the body support springs are respectively in series and in parallel. The achieved designs for active suspensions of this type are superior to conventional systems both in ...

Control of Suspensions for Vehicles With Flexible Bodies: Part I — Active Suspensions
Transportation Systems, 1994Abstract In this paper two classes of control strategies for active suspension are developed. In addition to traditional control objectives, suspension controllers are designed to reduce structural vibrations of the body. This has been accomplished by minimizing an objective function that includes the mean square values of modal ...

A semi-active ABW AWA suspension (Fig. 5.30) mechatronic control system is much less complex than an active ABW AWA suspension mechatronic control system, and may be manufactured at a lower cost [DAS 2006].

ROBUST CONTROL OF LINEAR ACTIVE SUSPENSIONS
Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, 1993Control of an active suspension system with uncertain parameters is studied. A simple heave two-degree-of-freedom vehicle model is considered. A state variable feedback and an integral plus state variable feedback controllers are designed for the nominal system.

ACTIVE SUSPENSIONS DECOUPLING BY ALGEBRAIC FEEDBACK
Theory and Practice of Control and Systems, 1999Active suspensions of advanced vehicles allows the active rejection of external disturbances exerted directly on the sprung mass of the vehicle and due to the road surface irregularity. We focus on the road irregularity disturbances with the purpose of isolating the chassis from vibrations transmitted through suspensions.

Active Suspension System –Energy Control
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009Abstract Abstract Suspension system is an important part of the car design, because it influences both the comfort and safety of the passengers. In this paper an active suspension using linear electric motor is designed. This article is also focused on experiments with active suspension – developing an appropriate input signal for the test bed and ...

In a vehicle suspension system including a hydraulic actuator between a sprung mass consisting substantially of a vehicle body and an unsprung mass consisting substantially of a wheel, a force proportional to but opposite in phase to an inertia force acting on the unsprung mass is applied by the actuator to the unsprung mass so that the ability of the ...
