An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Influence of Semi-Active Suspension Adjustment on Vehicle Body Pitch Oscillations

open access: yesTransport and Telecommunication, 2019
In this paper the relation between semi-active suspension characteristics and vertical oscillations of the vehicle body on road roughness is analysed. During experimental tests, the damping of semi-active suspension was changed while measuring vehicle's ...

Implementations of Full State Feedback Robust Control Designs for Mechanical Systems Using Only Positions or Velocities Output Feedback

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This paper proposes a new design and practical implementation of a robust ${\mathcal H}_{\infty }$ control applied to some mechanical systems considering in the controller design full access to the state variables and in the equivalent controller ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Nonlinear Time-Delay Suspension Adaptive Neural Network Active Control

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Considering the time-delay in control input channel and the nonlinear spring stiffness characteristics of suspension, a quarter-vehicle magneto rheological active suspension nonlinear model with time-delay is established in this paper.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Control of the Active Suspension for In-Wheel Motor

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2013
This study raises a new electric wheel with active control of suspension for in-wheel motor. Proceeding from the reality, we made a simulation analysis on these four models: a sample car with no motor, a motor with fixed joint, and active/inactive ...
