Activity Approach in Management
International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics, 2017Regardless of the field of activity, managers work with people. Not only those, who are called managers by their title, belong to the category of managers. Business owners and plant foremen, supervisors and heads of departments, commanders of military units and coaches of athletic teams, and many others - all fall into the category of managers by their

Activators: A practical approach
American Journal of Orthodontics, 1974Abstract In summary, we contend that the activator should be considered as an integral appliance alternative within a modern orthodontic practice. It is obviously assumed that the problem, diagnosis, treatment objectives, and plan always dictate the appliance choice. The appliance should never be the dominant consideration.

An activity theory approach to affordance
Proceedings of the second Nordic conference on Human-computer interaction, 2002The concept of affordance was introduced to the field of HCI as a means to enhance the understandability and usability of artifacts and especially their user interface. The results have however not been entirely convincing. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the concept of affordance coined by James J. Gibson.

From its inception in the late 1970s, the routine activity approach has been both a micro and macro theory of how crime rates emerge. On a micro level, the theory states that ordinary crime emerges when a likely offender converges with a suitable crime target in the absence of a capable guardian against crime.

An Approach to the Antiinflammatory Activity of Borjatriol
Planta Medica, 1984The antiinflammatory activity of borjatriol (a diterpenoid isolated from SIDERITIS MUGRONENSIS Borja) was tested using the cotton pellet-granuloma assay. The compound inhibited the granuloma weight and the serum lysozyme activity in a dose-dependently way.

A Factorization Approach for Activity Recognition
2003 Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshop, 2003Understanding activities arising out of the interactions of a configuration of moving objects is an important problem in video understanding, with applications in surveillance and monitoring. A special situation is when the objects are small enough to be represented as points on a 2D plane. In this paper, we introduce a novel method of representing the
