An Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) jet that occurred around 22:30 on July 2, 2012 was observed by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on-board the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). There were two phases of the jet. In Phase 1, two blobs were observed.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

THE INFLUENCE OF ‘GANG BARU’ TRADITIONAL MARKET ACTIVITIES IN THE USE OF PUBLIC SPACE IN SEMARANG CHINATOWN [PDF]
Chinatown is one of the commercial district in Semarang city, which continues to grow in the city center. It’s a 'generator' that drives a wide variety of economic activities, also self-actualization and disclosure of aspiration, expression of the people.

Interaction patterns of brain activity across space, time and frequency. Part I: methods [PDF]
We consider exploratory methods for the discovery of cortical functional connectivity. Typically, data for the i-th subject (i=1...NS) is represented as an NVxNT matrix Xi, corresponding to brain activity sampled at NT moments in time from NV cortical ...

Active learning BSM parameter spaces
AbstractActive learning (AL) has interesting features for parameter scans of new models. We show on a variety of models that AL scans bring large efficiency gains to the traditionally tedious work of finding boundaries for BSM models. In the MSSM, this approach produces more accurate bounds.

Dendritic cells steering antigen and leukocyte traffic in lymph nodes
Dendritic cells are key players in the activation of T cells and their commitment to effector function. In this In a Nutshell Review, we will discuss how dendritic cells guide the trafficking of antigen and leukocytes in the lymph node, thus influencing T‐cell activation processes. Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in initiating and shaping the

Active Learning with Neural Networks: Insights from Nonparametric Statistics [PDF]
Deep neural networks have great representation power, but typically require large numbers of training examples. This motivates deep active learning methods that can significantly reduce the amount of labeled training data. Empirical successes of deep active learning have been recently reported in the literature, however, rigorous label complexity ...

Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects nearly one‐third of the global population and poses a significant risk of progression to cirrhosis or liver cancer. Here, we discuss the roles of hepatic dendritic cell subtypes in MASLD, highlighting their distinct contributions to disease initiation and progression, and their ...

Geographic Imputation of Missing Activity Space Data from Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) GPS Positions. [PDF]
This research presents a pilot study to develop and compare methods of geographic imputation for estimating the location of missing activity space data collected using geographic ecological momentary assessment (GEMA).
