Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Turismo de base comunitária à luz da teoria ator-rede: novos caminhos investigativos no contexto brasileiro

open access: yesRevista Crítica de Ciências Sociais, 2020
This article focuses on the need for a new theoretical and conceptual problematization of community-based tourism or community tourism (CBT) in Brazil, exploring the actor-network theory as a possible analytical tool in this direction.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Approaching Participatory documentary networks and networking: From Actor Network Theory to Interventionist Networking Methodology

open access: yesInterfaces Numériques, 2019
This contribution conceives of interactive documentaries as relational configurations – as a nexus of discourses and practices. By building theory from practice (i.e. two case studies of interactive documentaries), the axioms of Actor Network Theory will

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

The Problem of Relevance in Post-Actor-Network Theory

open access: yesСоциология власти
The article is devoted to the problem of relevance in post-actor network theory. In the context of the turn to the material in sociological theory, one of the key tasks is to determine the relevance of non-humans in social interactions or in broader ...

Meeting the Universe Halfway. Feminist debate and Actor-Network Theory

open access: yesTecnoscienza, 2010
Starting from Karen Barad’s volume Meeting the Universe Halfway, Quantum Physics and the Entanglement of Matter and Meaning, I intend to focus on some points of convergence and divergence between two different debates on STS: the feminist approach and ...
