A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Relativistic Algebra over Finite Ring Continuum

open access: yesAxioms
We present a formal reconstruction of the conventional number systems, including integers, rationals, reals, and complex numbers, based on the principle of relational finitude over a finite field Fp.

Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

State of Charge Estimation of Lithium Battery Utilizing Strong Tracking H-Infinity Filtering Algorithm

open access: yesBatteries
The ability to quickly and accurately estimate the state of charge (SOC) of lithium batteries is a key function of the battery management system (BMS). To enhance the accuracy of SOC estimation for lithium batteries, we propose a method that combines the

Mankiw's Puzzle on Consumer Durables: A Misspecification [PDF]

open access: yes
Mankiw (1982) shows that consumer durables expenditures should follow a linear ARMA(1,1) process, but the data analyzed supports an AR(1) process instead; thus, a puzzle.

Cellular Snowballing: Cell Adhesion and Migration Drive the Self‐Assembly of Cell‐Microgel Biohybrid Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

Differential algebraic methods for single particle dynamics studies of the University of Maryland electron ring

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2010
The University of Maryland electron ring is a small low energy machine for the study of space-charge dominated beams. Differential algebraic methods as implemented in COSY Infinity offer an accurate method to study and analyze single particle nonlinear ...

An Explanation to the Concept of Actual Infinity and Potential Infinity through Set Theory and Calculus

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics and Statistics Studies
The concept of infinity refers to either an unending process or a limitless quantity. Aristotle introduced two types of infinity: potential infinity and actual infinity. Potential infinity refers to a never-ending process, and actual infinity refers to a collection containing infinitely many elements.

Holographic Space-time, Newton's Law and the Dynamics of Black Holes

open access: yes, 2020
We revisit the construction of models of quantum gravity in d dimensional Minkowski space in terms of random tensor models, and correct some mistakes in our previous treatment of the subject.

A Wearable Brain–Computer Interface for Mitigating Car Sickness via Attention Shifting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Car sickness poses a major challenge in vehicular travel, yet effective nonpharmacological solutions are scarce. We developed a wearable, closed‐loop mindfulness BCI that uses real‐time EEG‐based neurofeedback to shift attention away from motion‐induced discomfort. Validated in real‐car experiments involving >100$>100$ susceptible individuals, over 83%
