Diagnosis of some diseases through biomarkers [PDF]
Muchos gatos, como los perros, sufren de diferentes enfermedades. que en ese momento no permiten mostrar síntomas o signos que permiten identificar que la mascota sufre una enfermedad grave, ya que las características de los gatos son diferentes a las de

Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Clinical Implication of Targeting of Cancer Stem Cells [PDF]
The existence of cancer stem cells (CSCs) is receiving increasing interest particularly due to its potential ability to enter clinical routine. Rapid advances in the CSC field have provided evidence for the development of more reliable anticancer ...

Acute Phase Proteins as Cancer Biomarkers [PDF]
Interactions between tumor cells and the host microenvironment have been shown to play a significant role in the initiation, progression, and invasiveness of human cancer. The complex changes in the tumor microenvironment have been shown to modulate the activation of the different arms of the host immune system including the acute phase response. Acute

The acute-phase response is an inflammatory process triggered mainly by the cytokine IL-6. Signaling of IL-6 is transduced by activation of STAT3 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 3), which rapidly induces the production of acute-phase ...

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Immune complexes in chronic Chagas disease patients are formed by exovesicles from Trypanosoma cruzi carrying the conserved MASP N-terminal region [PDF]
The exovesicles (EVs) are involved in pathologic host-parasite immune associations and have been recently used as biomarkers for diagnosis of infectious diseases.

Characterization of Acute-Phase Proteins (Apps) [PDF]
Upon Injury, a complex biological response of tissues is initiated to protect the organism and remove the injurious stimuli then trigger the healing process. Inflammation is a part of this complex response. The local response to tissue injury or infection is acute inflammation. Without inflammation, wounds and infections would never heal. This response
