Dyssynchrony without dysfunction: Left bundle branch block does not acutely reduce cardiac output

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Six electromechanical in silico heart models were simulated under healthy and pure acute left bundle branch block (LBBB) conditions. LBBB induced electrical dyssynchrony and increased left ventricular free wall strain, while the right and left ventricular ejection fraction remained relatively unchanged.

The three‐element Windkessel parameters have empirical relations that uniquely define the mechanoenergetics of cardiac muscle shortening

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend By collecting literature data across multiple species, we identified empirical relations among arterial resistance, compliance and impedance, which are the three biophysical indices used to characterise the arterial load against which the heart ejects.

Therapeutic Balloon‐Assisted Enteroscopy: Recent Advances in the Management of Small Bowel Diseases

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, April 2027.
ABSTRACT Balloon‐assisted enteroscopy (BAE) has substantially advanced small bowel disease management. This review summarizes recent therapeutic BAE advances, focusing on three major indications: small bowel vascular lesions, hereditary polyposis syndromes, and Crohn's disease (CD).

MEK1/2 Signalling establishes an alloreactive effector T cell program through SMAD4 during cardiac allograft rejection

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 11, November 2026.
Upon T cell receptor (TCR) engagement by alloantigens, MEK1/2–ERK1/2 signalling promotes SMAD4 nuclear translocation and supports SMAD4‐dependent transcription of effector genes, including Ifng, Tnf, and Il2ra. This transcriptional program promotes alloreactive T cell effector function and contributes to cardiac allograft rejection.

Salicylic Acid as a Food‐Derived Bioactive Constituent of Tiaoqi Daozhi Decoction: A Potential Functional Food Ingredient to Restoring Gut Barrier Function in Constipation‐Predominant IBS

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
Tiaoqi Daozhi Decoction (TQDZD) is a classic formulation composed of eight medicine‐food homologous botanicals. UPLC‐MS/MS profiling identified 1962 non‐redundant compounds in its aqueous extract, predominantly phenolic acids and flavonoids, of which 107 metabolites were systemically bioavailable.
