Atraumatic Subcapital Femoral Neck Fracture as the Initial Presentation of Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head: A Case‐Based Systematic Review

Atraumatic subcapital femoral neck fracture can be an early presentation of osteonecrosis of the femoral head. MRI should be considered when atypical radiographic features are present, and primary arthroplasty may be associated with fewer early failures than internal fixation in suspected cases.
