Bacampicillin in Acute Tonsillitis

1976
Bacampicillin was evaluated in 58 patients with acute tonsillitis. Patients were assigned randomly to receive either 200, 400, 600 or 800 mg three times daily for 10 days. Initial cultures were positive for β-haemolytic streptococci in 32 of 57 cases (56%). The cure rate was 97% at follow-up after three weeks.
