Acute Pain Transfusion Reaction: A Case Report
Transfusion-related adverse events involving packed red blood cells (PRBCs) and fresh frozen plasma (FFP) are not unusual. Reactions can happen at any time during the transfusion, as well as hours or days later. An acute pain transfusion reaction (APTR) is defined as sudden, intense joint pain, usually in the back and trunk, that appears right after ...

Acute Hypotensive Transfusion Reaction: A Case Report
Introduction: Acute hypotensive transfusion reactions are characterized by an abrupt and early onset of hypotension. This is often severe and lacks other signs of symptoms associated with more common causes of hypotension or transfusion reactions ...

We propose mild‐MHT protocol for the quick internalization of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) by immune cells. The heat induced by MNPs under alternating magnetic field stimulate MNPs diffusion and cell membrane invagination, accelerating the cellular internalization of MNPs. ABSTRACT Immune cell therapies show promise in hematologic malignancies and are

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Transfusion related acute lung injury-TRALI: a review
Acute pulmonary damage caused by transfusion is characterized by the sudden onset of respiratory distress in newly transfused patients within 6 hours after the transfusion, bilateral infiltrative changes in chest X-ray, PaO2/FIO2 <300 mmHg, absence of

Abstract Introduction This study aims to investigate patient factors affecting the rate of plasma volume target attained in hypertriglyceridemic pancreatitis (HTG‐AP) patients undergoing double filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP). Methods A retrospective analysis of 82 HTG‐AP‐interpreted patients from January 2019 to April 2024 compared target plasma ...

Abstract Background Blood pressure is a crucial risk factor for hemodialysis patients, but the specific impact of weather factors, particularly barometric pressure, on blood pressure remains unclear. This study aims to examine the relationship between barometric pressure and blood pressure in hemodialysis patients. Methods We conducted a single‐center,

Interventional oncology in children: Where are we now?
Abstract Paediatric Interventional Oncology (IO) lags behind adult IO due to a scarcity of specific outcome data. The suboptimal way to evolve this field is relying heavily on adult experiences. The distinct tumour types prevalent in children, such as extracranial germ cell tumours, sarcomas, and neuroblastoma, differ strongly from those found in ...
