Exploring Linalool‐Based Phytotherapy for Excitatory/Inhibitory Imbalance in Alzheimer's Disease: A Review of Lavender and Cannabis Therapeutic Effects on Sleep, Seizures, and Cognition

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 2604-2631, May 2026.
Schematic overview of the proposed neuromodulatory actions of linalool in Alzheimer's disease. Through multi‐target effects on oxidative stress, amyloid aggregation, GABAergic and glutamatergic signaling, linalool may restore excitatory/inhibitory balance.

Organic atmospheric particulate material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Carbonaceous compounds comprise a substantial fraction of atmospheric particulate matter (PM). Particulate organic material can be emitted directly into the atmosphere or formed in the atmosphere when the oxidation products of certain volatile organic ...

Specific and Multi‐Product Clade I and Clade IV Sesquiterpene Synthases Contribute to the Psilocybe cubensis Volatilome

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 8, April 2026.
Five sesquiterpene synthases of Psilocybe cubensis were investigated in vitro and in vivo. CubF is a clade I synthase producing α‐muurolol, whereas clade IV synthases CubG1 and CubG2 produce epi‐isozizaene and β‐duprezianene. Further clade IV synthases CubH and CubI primarily make dauca‐4(11),8‐diene and β‐barbatene, respectively.

Catalysis of Aldol Reactions with External Electric Fields in Microfluidic Capacitors: Formation of Organocatalytic Electric Double Layers with Prolinol Ethers and Nitrophenols

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 4, April 2026.
Electric‐field catalysis in microfluidic capacitors applied to Hayashi–Jørgenson‐type chemistry reveals mechanisms that operate with field‐directed ion‐pair generation, ion‐pair separation and templated assembly of charged monomers into supramolecular 2D polymers. They are orthogonal to proline chemistry and may serve as guidelines for the discovery of

Changes in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) content in resistant and non-resistant forest trees in response to bark beetle attack

open access: yesJournal of Forest Science
The response of forest trees to bark beetle attack involves substantial changes in terpene content, which varies between resistant and non-resistant species.

Elucidation of the myrcene ozonolysis mechanism from a Criegee Chemistry perspective [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics
Criegee intermediates (CIs) are highly reactive species generated during the alkene ozonolysis, which play a critical role in atmospheric chemistry. Myrcene is a typical monoterpene, and its linear structure is significantly different from other cyclic ...
