Reactions of group IVB compounds with acyl fluorides

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1971
Abstract Derivatives of acyl fluorides can be readily prepared in high yields by reaction with Group IVB compounds. The reaction may be represented as where n =0-3, and, when M is Si, Y may be nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, or halogen. When M is Ge or Sn the scope of the reaction is more limited, but oxygen and nitrogen derivatives may be prepared ...

Electronic Spectra of Isoelectronic Amides, Acids, and Acyl Fluorides

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1968
The first four bands in the gas-phase spectra of amides, carboxylic acids, and acyl fluorides are thought to be n → π*, n → 3s Rydberg, π → π*, and n → 3p Rydberg excitations. That the second and fourth bands are Rydberg, whereas the first and third are valence shell is demonstrated in a comparison of gas-phase and condensed-phase absorption and ...

Oxidation of primary alcohols to acyl fluorides using BrF3

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1996
Abstract Aliphatic and alicyclic primary alcohols when treated with BrF 3 were rapidly oxidized to the corresponding acyl fluorides. The reaction is of an ionic nature. The main by-product was found to be the symmetrical ester which originates from the reaction between the acyl fluoride and unreacted starting alcohol.

Facile conversion of perfluoroacyl fluorides into other acyl halides

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 1, 1996
Nine perfluoroacyl fluorides underwent halogen exchange when treated with anhydrous lithium halides to give acyl chlorides, bromides and iodides in high yields. The temperature dependence of this reaction is described. In the reaction with perfluorodiacyl fluoride, the diacyl halides possessing different acyl halide-groups were also produced.

Facile Formation of N-Acyl-oxazolidinone Derivatives Using Acid Fluorides

Organic Letters, 2010
A mild method is presented for the formation of N-acylated oxazolidinones that employs acid fluorides and mild bases, such as (i)Pr(2)NEt and NEt(3). Optimized reaction conditions for two types of substrates have been developed utilizing either the oxazolidinone itself or the corresponding in situ generated O-silyloxazolidinones resulting in the ...

Base‐Promoted Thioester Synthesis from Acyl Fluorides Using Sulfonyl Hydrazides as Thiol Surrogates

Annalen der Pharmacie
A method for synthesizing thioesters from acyl fluorides has been developed using sulfonyl hydrazides as thiol surrogates. The reaction proceeds under base‐promoted conditions, generating a diverse array of aryl thioesters in good‐to‐excellent yields ...

Palladium-Catalyzed Formation and Subsequent Transformations of Silicon–Fluorine Species from Acyl Fluorides

Synthesis
Ligand-controlled palladium-catalyzed reactions of acyl fluorides with hydrosilanes enables the selective generation and isolation of silicon–fluorine species, R 3 Si–F, which have typically been regarded as inert by-products in organosilicon chemistry ...

Fe-LMCT Photodecarboxylation for (Hetero)arene Chloro- and Bromodifluoromethylation: Rapid Access to Aromatic Acyl Fluorides

Organic Letters
Chloro- and bromodifluoromethyl groups (CF2X) offer complementary properties to other fluorinated substituents in modulating biological functionality and provide versatile synthetic handles for postfunctionalization. However, their widespread use remains
