INFLUENCE OF SOWING DATES AND IRRIGATION SCHEDULING ON SOME WATER RELATIONS, SNAP BEAN (PHASEOLUS VULGARIS L.) PRODUCTIVITY AND APHID, PISUM APHID (ACYRTHOSIPHON PISUM HARRIS ) POPULATIONS [PDF]
Snap bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important exporting vegetable crops in Egypt. The experiment was done for two Nili seasons 2014 and 2015 in split plot design. Main plots were assigned to sowing dates and the sub plots were irrigation

Acyrthosiphon pisum AQP2: A multifunctional insect aquaglyceroporin
Annotation of the recently sequenced genome of the pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) identified a gene ApAQP2 (ACYPI009194, Gene ID: 100168499) with homology to the Major Intrinsic Protein/aquaporin superfamily of membrane channel proteins. Phylogenetic analysis suggests that ApAQP2 is a member of an insect-specific clade of this superfamily.

Genetics of Color Polymorphism in the Pea Aphid,Acyrthosiphon pisum [PDF]
The genetic basis of color polymorphism is explored in the pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) (Homoptera: Sternorrhyncha), in which two color morphs have been described (pink or green). Laboratory crosses and a Mendelian genetic analysis reveal that color polymorphism in pea aphids is determined by a single biallelic locus, which we name colorama,

Nucleotide Sequence and Genomic Organization of Acyrthosiphon Pisum Virus
The nucleotide sequence of the genomic RNA of Acyrthosiphon pisum virus was determined. The APV genome is 10,016 nucleotides in length, excluding the 3'-end poly(A) track, and contains two large open reading frames (ORFs), encoding proteins of 296,340 and 63,279 Da. The ORF1 is preceded by an untranslated leader sequence of 267 nucleotides.

Effect of selenium on alleviating oxidative stress in pea leaves caused by pea aphid feeding
The aim of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant effect of selenium in Pisum sativum L. plants pre-treated with sodium selenite or sodium selenate at a concentration of 10 and 20 μM, and then colonized by pea aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris). It
