Ad-hoc in-car networking concept
Proceedings. 2005 IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2005., 2005In- and inter-vehicle networking is one of the most exciting topics in todays vehicle concepts. State of the art net- works in cars which are configured in a very specific and fixed manner have reached their conceptional limit. Todays approach is integration into an overall network, which guarantees an effective and lasting communication over years. Ad-

A Concept for Mobile Ad-Hoc Messaging Networks (AMNet)
International Journal of Information Technology and Web Engineering, 2009This article shows an innovative approach for an ad-hoc messaging network (AMNET) which uses simple store-and-forward message passing to spread data asynchronously. This approach primarily focuses on application specific needs that can be covered by simple message passing mechanisms.

Concept and design of Ad Hoc and Mobile classrooms
Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, 2003Abstract This investigation describes the concept of mobile learning and the design of Ad Hoc and Mobile classrooms. Four classes of mobile learning and implementation of Ad Hoc and eSchoolbag systems are presented. The paper discusses the development of advanced wireless technologies for building an ad hoc classroom to create a modern and new learning

Concept-Based Routing in Ad-Hoc Networks
2008In concept-addressable messaging, network nodes are both described and addressed by concepts derived from an ontology domain model. The paper presents a routing protocol for the concept-addressable messaging in mobile ad-hoc networks. The domain model is a taxonomy, and the address is any concept from the taxonomy. The protocol uses restricted flooding

CONCEPT: A Service Framework for Secure Ad-Hoc Environments
2014Despite its obvious potential in many contexts, ad-hoc networks are still mostly unknown, not popular and not a clear choice in the absence of any other network infrastructure. Two main reasons may be pointed out: the difficulty to configure a secure ad-hoc environment and the lack of ease to use services targeted to such environments.

In this chapter I discuss the account of metaphor proposed by Robyn Carston in chapter 5 of her book Thoughts and Utterances: The Pragmatics of Explicit Communication (2002). This account is based on two theses: T1: The processes of broadening and narrowing are complementary and their effects contribute to the determination of the content of the ...

The degree of participation concept in ad hoc networks
Proceedings of the Eighth IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications. ISCC 2003, 2004The paper introduces the novel concept of degree-of-participation (DP) in mobile ad hoc networks. The degree-of-participation concept allows nodes in the ad hoc network to express the level of involvement they are willing to give to the forwarding process. The paper also introduces a DP-based routing scheme for mobile ad hoc networks.

Lexical Pragmatic Adjustment and the Nature of Ad hoc Concepts
International Review of Pragmatics, 2012According to truth-conditional pragmatics, a word may contribute an ad hoc concept to the proposition expressed, that is, something that differs from the concept the word encodes (the lexicalized concept). In relevance-theoretic lexical pragmatics, ad hoc concepts are treated like a species of concepts proper.
