Perfectionism in students and positive career planning attitudes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In today’s uncertain job market, university students who show positive attitudes in their career planning have an advantage. Yet, we know little what personality characteristics are associated with individual differences in career planning attitudes. The

Extensive transcriptome data providing great efficacy in genetic research and adaptive gene discovery: a case study of Elymus sibiricus L. (Poaceae, Triticeae)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Genetic markers play a central role in understanding genetic diversity, speciation, evolutionary processes, and how species respond to environmental stresses. However, conventional molecular markers are less effective when studying polyploid species with

How Adaptive Is an Adaptive Test: Are All Adaptive Tests Adaptive?

open access: yesJournal of Computerized Adaptive Testing, 2019
The primary distinguishing feature of computerized adaptive testing (CAT) is that sets of items that are administered to examinees are specifically selected for each examinee during the test process. This implies that examinees who respond differently to items on a test will get different sets of test items.

Self‐Healing and Stretchable Synaptic Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐healing stretchable synaptic transistor (3S‐T) is realized using a p‐PVDF‐HFP‐DBP/PDMS‐MPU‐IU bilayer as gate insulator, where dipole‐dipole interaction enhances polarization to achieve a large memory window. Leveraging its neuronal biomimicry, the synaptic transistor demonstrates electrically compatibility with the biological brain. Furthermore,

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Dual‐Mode Magnetic Elastomer for On‐Demand Motion and Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐mode magnetic elastomer is introduced, enabling DC field‐driven programmable actuation and AC field‐driven magnetothermal degradation. GHz‐range magnetic fields generate ultrafast heating of magnetic nanoparticles that activates cleavage of the silicone elastomer matrix.
