Short-Term Adaptive Modification of Dynamic Ocular Accommodation [PDF]
Indirect observations suggest that the neural control of accommodation may undergo adaptive recalibration in response to age-related biomechanical changes in the accommodative system. However, there has been no direct demonstration of such an adaptive capability.

Custom Ocular Prosthesis for Enucleated Eye: A Case Report
The unfortunate loss or absence of an eye may be caused by a congenital defect, irreparable trauma, tumor, sympathetic ophthalmia, or the need for histologic confirmation of a suspected diagnosis.

A Neuroanatomically Grounded Optimal Control Model of the Compensatory Eye Movement System in Mice
We present a working model of the compensatory eye movement system in mice. We challenge the model with a data set of eye movements in mice (n =34) recorded in 4 different sinusoidal stimulus conditions with 36 different combinations of frequency (0.1–3 ...

Neuromorphic Adaptable Ocular Dominance Maps [PDF]
Time staggered winner-take-all (ts-WTA) is a novel analog CMOS neuron cell [8], that computes 'sum of weighted inputs" implemented as floating gate pFET 'synapses'. The cell behavior exhibits competitive learning (WTA) so as to refine its weights in response to stimulation by input patterns staggered over time such that at the end of learning, the cell'

Adaptations and Deficits in the Vestibulo‐Ocular Reflex after Peripheral Ocular Motor Palsies [PDF]
AbstractPalsy of a nerve might be expected to lower vestibulo‐ocular reflex (VOR) responses in its fields of motion, but effects of peripheral neuromuscular disease were unknown. We recorded the VOR during sinusoidal head rotations in yaw, pitch, and roll at 0.5‐2 Hz and static torsional gain in 43 patients with unilateral nerve palsies.

Subclinical Neck Pain Alters Gaze Stability During the Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex
(1) Background: Subclinical neck pain is mild-to-moderate neck pain that has not yet been treated, and where individuals experience pain-free days. Alterations in sensorimotor integration, motor control, proprioception, and cerebellar inhibition have ...
