Human breastmilk memory T cells throughout lactation manifest activated tissue-oriented profile with prominent regulation

open access: yesJCI Insight
Breastfeeding provides important immunological benefits to the neonate, but how the different immunoactive components in breastmilk contribute to immunity remains poorly understood.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Temporal profile and amplitude of human masseter muscle activity is adapted to food properties during individual chewing cycles

open access: yes, 2014
Jaw actions adapt to the changing properties of food that occur during a masticatory sequence. In the present study, we investigated how the time-varying activation profile of the masseter muscle changes during natural chewing in humans and how food ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

PERMA Profiler: Adaptation to Sinhala

open access: yesKDU Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies
Recent history has seen an increased interest in wellbeing. This interest has been observed in clinical settings as well as at the level of state policies and at corporate levels. Following this interest, many models of wellbeing have been developed. The PERMA model of wellbeing was a more recent development forwarded by Martin Seligman, which measures

A Study to Investigate the Safety and Immunogenicity of Monovalent Omicron LP.8.1-Adapted BNT162b2 COVID-19 Vaccine in Adults ≥ 65 Years of Age and High-Risk Adults 18–64 Years of Age (Preliminary Results)

open access: yesVaccines
Background/Objectives: This study evaluated the Omicron LP.8.1 variant-adapted BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine (LP.8.1-adapted BNT162b2). Methods: This analysis is part of an ongoing phase 3 open-label study evaluating the immunogenicity, safety, and tolerability ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
