Periodontitis pain symdrome influence on regulatiry-adaptive capacity of human organisms

open access: yesКубанский научный медицинский вестник, 2014
30 patients with periodontitis have been involved in identification of index of regulatory-adaptive capacity status prior to treatment and after it, and from it they have determined regulatory-adaptive capacity of organisms.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Evaluation and analysis of climate change adaptive capacity in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, southwestern China

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
Various strategies have been proposed to enhance the adaptive capacity to climate change. The majority of studies evaluating adaptive capacity have focused on the provincial level, with relatively fewer studies conducted at the municipal or sub-municipal

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Assessing leverage points for strengthening adaptive capacity in a Global South food system: A psychometric approach

open access: yesClimate Risk Management
Despite the burgeoning literature on adaptive capacity, there is a lack of psychometric approaches for assessing the determinants of adaptive capacity, particularly in food systems in the Global South.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The architect’s adaptive capacity: public perception of the architect adaptive capacity in coping with disaster

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2020
Abstract Architects play an important role in building the concept and design of housing so that they can meet aesthetic, functional and safety standards for residents, especially for Jabodetabek people who are in disaster prone areas. This study wants to see how people’s perceptions of the architect’s adaptation capacity to disasters ...
