Hormesis and Adaptive Cellular Control Systems
Hormetic dose response occurs for many endpoints associated with exposures of biological organisms to environmental stressors. Cell-based U- or inverted U-shaped responses may derive from common processes involved in activation of adaptive responses ...

Output Stabilization of Linear Systems in Given Set
This paper presents a method for designing control laws to achieve output stabilization of linear systems within specified sets, even in the presence of unknown bounded disturbances. The approach consists of two stages.

Network Representation Learning With Community Awareness and Its Applications in Brain Networks
Previously network representation learning methods mainly focus on exploring the microscopic structure, i.e., the pairwise relationship or similarity between nodes.

An attempt is made in the subject paper to evolve a basic philosophy for adaptive control systems. A method is described for determining the system impulse response from measurements of instantaneous system input and output. The impulse response is expanded in a Taylor series, to facilitate solution of the convolution integral.

Robustness of higher-order networks with synergistic protection
From chemical reactions to human communications, higher-order interactions are ubiquitous in real-world networks. Entities within higher-order interactions often exhibit collective behaviors that could create synergistic effects on robustness of the ...

Epidemic spreading on coupling network with higher-order information layer
Epidemic tends to break out with information spreading which occurs between pairwise individuals or in groups. In active social online platform, three or more individuals can share information or exchange opinion, which could be modeled as a clique ...

Adaptable transition systems [PDF]
We present an essential model of adaptable transition systems inspired by white-box approaches to adaptation and based on foundational models of component based systems. The key feature of adaptable transition systems are control propositions, imposing a

Review of Adaptive Shock Control Systems
Drag reduction plays a major role in future aircraft design in order to lower emissions in aviation. In transonic flight, the transonic shock induces wave drag and thus increases the overall aircraft drag and hence emissions.

Adaptive Traffic Control System
Abstract: Whenever we hear the word traffic, we all think of people blaring horns and waiting endlessly, stress is always silent but prominent in the word traffic. We all face traffic daily and have experienced the frustration and stress that traffic induces.
