AdaptaBLE: Data Rate and Transmission Power Adaptation for Bluetooth Low Energy

2019 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2019
The use of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) has been steadily increased since Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) standardized BLE in 2010, and BLE performance has been improved owing to various studies. Bluetooth specification 4.2 defined only one data rate, i.e., 1 Mb/s.

Adaptive rate control over mobile data networks with heuristic rate compensations

2016 IEEE/ACM 24th International Symposium on Quality of Service (IWQoS), 2016
Mobile data networks exhibit highly variable data rates and stochastic non-congestion-related packet loss. These challenges result in key performance bottlenecks in current Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) implementations: bandwidth inefficiency and large end-to-end delay.

Adaptive data rate using ARQ and nonuniform constellations

IEEE VTS 53rd Vehicular Technology Conference, Spring 2001. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37202), 2002
We introduce an automatic repeat request (ARQ) scheme that uses nonuniform signal constellations in order to adapt the data rate to the received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in a fading channel without using channel state feedback or incremental redundancy.

Performance comparison of different data rate adaptation mechanisms

33rd European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication - ECOC 2007, 2007
Different data rate adaptation mechanism and their influence on network and traffic characteristics are visualized in radar plots in order to provide a fast and fair comparison of multiple parameters at the same time. Introduction In today’s transport links in core and metro area networks are often underutilized and transport capacity is wasted by the ...

A DATA-RATE LIMITED VIEW OF ADAPTIVE CONTROL

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006
This paper addresses the problem of adaptively controlling a plant with unknown parameters using communication-limited feedback. Assuming known dynamics, expressions have recently been obtained for the minimum average feedback data rate required for asymptotic stabilisability.

Multiplatform multisensor fusion with adaptive-rate data communication

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1997
An algorithm for multiplatform multisensor fusion with adaptive-rate data communication is presented. In this new communication/fusion scheme, data are compressed before communication, and decompressed and fused after communication. The amount of information to be compressed, as well as the data communication rate, depends on target kinematics.

Adaptive data rate capacity of meteor-burst communications

IEEE Conference on Military Communications, 2002
The use of adaptive data rates in the meteor-burst communications environment is investigated. Measured results obtained from a number of meteor links are presented and compared with previous theoretical predictions. The contribution of various meteor trail families to throughput capacity are also investigated. The results show that the use of adaptive

Adaptive coverage for high data rate LTE networks

2014 International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications (ICNC), 2014
Traditional cellular network infrastructure provide fixed radio coverage. The temporal changes in user distribution throughout the day and from day to day leads to inefficient use of radio resources. Our position is to create an adaptive radio coverage to match the radio resources and user demand. The main approach for creating flexible radio coverage (
