Adaptive Detection of Range-distributed Targets in Weighted Generalized Inverse Gaussian Clutter
In this paper, we investigate the adaptive detection of range-distributed targets in compound-Gaussian clutter, where the texture component follows a Weighted Generalized Inverse Gaussian (WGIG) distribution.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

An Adaptive Failure Detector Based on Quality of Service in Peer-to-Peer Networks
The failure detector is one of the fundamental components that maintain high availability of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks. Under different network conditions, the adaptive failure detector based on quality of service (QoS) can achieve the detection time ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Adaptive Constant False Alarm Rate Detector Based on Long Short-term Memory Network [PDF]
To solve the problem of degradation of detection performance of adaptive constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detectors due to low accuracy of environment recognition, an automatic clipping adaptive CFAR detector based on long short-term memory (LSTM ...

Malware Detection with Adaptive Anomaly Detection
Cloud computing is a growing industry which provide instant access to data anytime and anywhere. The downside is there is no standardization of security features and entrusting our data with third parties. The hackers find way with security holes to steal and disrupt easily. Malware is of high importance to be detected.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Adaptive shadow detection using global texture and sampling deduction
An adaptive shadow detection algorithm is proposed to eliminate interference on object detection from the shadow. The algorithm uses three components in YUV colour space to identify shadow pixels from the candidate foreground.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
