Smoothness Adaptive AverageDerivative Estimation [PDF]
Many important models, such as index models widely used in limiteddependent variables, partial linear models and nonparametric demand studiesutilize estimation of average derivatives (sometimes weighted) of theconditional mean function.

Cooperative estimation algorithms for multi-sensor networks with imprecise measurements [PDF]
A cooperative estimation algorithm is proposed for mutli-sensor networks with imprecise measurements caused by electromagnetic interferences, abnormal currents and other faults in the multi-sensor measurement process.

Adaptive Moving Horizon Estimator for Return Flow Rate Estimation using Fluid Levels of a Venturi Channel [PDF]
Real-time estimation of the return drilling fluid during oil well drilling is investigated in this study. Online fluid level measurements from a Venturi channel which can be placed on the return flowline is used with a model-based estimator.

Frequency Adaptive Parameter Estimation of Unbalanced and Distorted Power Grid
Grid synchronization plays an important role in the grid integration of renewable energy sources. To achieve grid synchronization, accurate information of the grid voltage signal parameters are needed.

Adaptive quantizers for estimation [PDF]
In this paper, adaptive estimation based on noisy quantized observations is studied. A low complexity adaptive algorithm using a quantizer with adjustable input gain and offset is presented. Three possible scalar models for the parameter to be estimated are considered: constant, Wiener process and Wiener process with deterministic drift.

In measurement systems operating under various disturbances the probabilistic characteristics of measurement noises are usually known approximately. To improve the observation accuracy, a new approach to the Kalman’s filter adaptation is proposed.

Adaptive estimation of eigensubspace [PDF]
In a recent work we recast the problem of estimating the minimum eigenvector (eigenvector corresponding to the minimum eigenvalue) of a symmetric positive definite matrix into a neural network framework. We now extend this work using an inflation technique to estimate all or some of the orthogonal eigenvectors of the given matrix.

Robust Estimation of Optical Phase Varying as a Continuous Resonant Process [PDF]
It is well-known that adaptive homodyne estimation of continuously varying optical phase provides superior accuracy in the phase estimate as compared to adaptive or non-adaptive static estimation.
