Adaptive acoustooptic filter [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Optics, 1984
A new adaptive filter utilizing acoustooptic devices in a space integrating architecture is described. Two configurations are presented; one of them, suitable for signal estimation, is shown to approximate the Wiener filter, while the other, suitable for detection, is shown to approximate the matched filter.

Boosted adaptive filters [PDF]

open access: yesDigital Signal Processing, 2018
Abstract We introduce the boosting notion of machine learning to the adaptive signal processing literature. In our framework, we have several adaptive filtering algorithms, i.e., the weak learners, that run in parallel on a common task such as equalization, classification, regression or filtering.

Adaptive Cuckoo Filters [PDF]

open access: yesACM Journal of Experimental Algorithmics, 2018
We introduce the adaptive cuckoo filter (ACF), a data structure for approximate set membership that extends cuckoo filters by reacting to false positives, removing them for future queries. As an example application, in packet processing queries may correspond to flow identifiers, so a search for an element is likely to be followed by repeated searches ...

Adaptive Filtering Revisited [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Operational Research Society, 1979
This paper shows that the adaptive filtering and forecasting techniques proposed by Makridakis and Wheelwright can be viewed as approximations to a more precise filtering method in which the Kalman filter is applied to a dynamic autoregressive model which is a special case of the models of Harrison and Stevens.

Adaptive Kalman Filtering

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards, 1985
The increased power of small computers makes the use of parameter estimation methods attractive. Such methods have a number of uses in analytical chemistry. When valid models are available, many methods work well, but when models used in the estimation are in error, most methods fail.

Effects of Multirate Systems on the Statistical Properties of Random Signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
In multirate digital signal processing, we often encounter time-varying linear systems such as decimators, interpolators, and modulators. In many applications, these building blocks are interconnected with linear filters to form more complicated systems.

Active control of vibrant actuators with adaptive adjustment of the reference [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
An improved adaptive filter for eliminating periodic vibrations of unknown frequency in rotary machinery is presented. The proposed canceller is based on a usual bank of digital adaptive notch filters, each filter tuned in the cancellation of one ...

An Electrically Programmable Split-Electrode Charge-Coupled Transversal Filter (EPSEF) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A CCD split-electrode transversal filter (EPSEF) with analog controlled tap weights is described. The programmable tap weighting utilizes a novel analog multiplier for sampled data, based on charge profiling underneath a resistive gate structure.

Adaptive-FRESH Filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Adaptive filters are self-designing systems for information extraction which rely for their operation on a recursive algorithm (Haykin, 2001). They find application in environments where the optimum filter cannot be applied because of lack of knowledge about the signal characteristics and/or the data to be processed.
