Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Experimenting with the p4est library for AMR simulations of two-phase flows

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2016
Many physical problems involve spatial and temporal inhomogeneities that require a very fine discretization in order to be accurately simulated. Using an adaptive mesh, a high level of resolution is used in the appropriate areas while

Sequential Convex Programming for Reentry Trajectory Optimization Utilizing Modified hp-Adaptive Mesh Refinement and Variable Quadratic Penalty

open access: yesAerospace
Due to the strong nonlinearity in the reentry trajectory planning problem for reusable launch vehicles (RLVs), the scale of the problem after high-precision discretization can become significantly large, and the non-convex path constraints are prone to ...

MOLECULAR STATICS SIMULATION OF NANOINDENTATION USING ADAPTIVE QUASICONTINUUM METHOD

open access: yesActa Polytechnica CTU Proceedings, 2018
In this work, molecular statics is used to model a nanoindentation test on a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice. To this end, the QuasiContinuum (QC) method with adaptive propagation of the fully resolved domain is used to reduce the computational cost ...
