Synchronization of Discontinuous Neural Networks with Delays via Adaptive Control

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2013
The drive-response synchronization of delayed neural networks with discontinuous activation functions is investigated via adaptive control. The synchronization of this paper means that the synchronization error approaches to zero for almost all time as ...

Astrocyte heterogeneity in brain metastases

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Astrocytes emerge as pivotal regulators of metastatic colonization, survival, immune remodeling, and therapy response associated with an increasing heterogeneity that requires spatially and longitudinally resolved approaches to uncover regulatory programs and guide context‐specific therapies.

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Control of Offshore Hydraulic Wind Turbine Based on Radial Basis Function Neural Network

open access: yesEnergies
A maximum power point tracking control strategy for an affine nonlinear constant displacement pump-variable hydraulic motor actuation system with parameter uncertainty, used within an offshore hydraulic wind turbine, is studied in this paper.

Adaptive Neural Networks Synchronization of a Four-Dimensional Energy Resource Stochastic System

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
An adaptive neural networks chaos synchronization control method is proposed for a four-dimensional energy resource demand-supply system with input constraints. Assuming the response system contains unknown uncertain nonlinearities and unknown stochastic

Decreased cold‐sensing function of the transient receptor potential channel TRPM8 from tailed amphibians

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

Adaptive neural networks for adaptive nonlinear robot control

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994
A new Neural Network (NN)architecture is introduced, and the following concepts are employed:(i) combination of input, interaction and output activation functions and (ii) one-step learning iteration approach. The proposed NN synthesis procedures are useful for applications to identification and control of dynamical systems.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Adaptive Neural LMI-Based H-Infinity Control for MEMS Gyroscope

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
A novel adaptive radial basis function neural network H-infinity control strategy with robust feedback compensator using linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach is proposed for micro electro mechanical systems vibratory gyroscopes involving parametric ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
