Adaptive RBF Neural Vibration Control of Flexible Structure

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
An adaptive sliding mode controller using radial basis function (RBF) network is proposed to approximate the unknown system dynamics for cantilever beam. Neural network controller is designed to approximate the unknown system model.

Neural operators for adaptive control of freeway traffic

open access: yesAutomatica
Uncertainty and delayed reactions in human driving behavior lead to stop-and-go traffic congestion on freeways. The freeway traffic dynamics are governed by the Aw-Rascle-Zhang (ARZ) traffic Partial Differential Equation (PDE) models with unknown relaxation time.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Robust Adaptive Control via Neural Linearization and Compensation

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2012
We propose a new type of neural adaptive control via dynamic neural networks. For a class of unknown nonlinear systems, a neural identifier-based feedback linearization controller is first used.

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Nonlinear Time-Delay Suspension Adaptive Neural Network Active Control

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Considering the time-delay in control input channel and the nonlinear spring stiffness characteristics of suspension, a quarter-vehicle magneto rheological active suspension nonlinear model with time-delay is established in this paper.

Treatment with KCL‐286, a first‐in‐class retinoic acid receptor‐β (RARβ) agonist, ameliorates neuronal DNA damage and inflammation in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Repair of neuronal DNA damage in Alzheimer's disease by KCL‐286. (A) Amyloid‐β oligomers and plaques impair neuronal DNA repair pathways, leading to DNA double‐strand breaks and glial activation. (B) KCL‐286 activates RARβ/RXR signalling via retinoic acid response elements (RAREs), associated with increased BRCA1 expression, enhanced DNA repair and ...
