ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Reachability analysis for the verification of adaptive protection setting selection logic [PDF]
The testing of adaptive protection schemes is a problem that remains largely unaddressed. These schemes can be characterized by uncertainty in behavior due to the dynamic changes in their configuration to suit prevailing network conditions.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Multi-Set Space-Time Shift Keying Assisted Adaptive Inter-Layer FEC for Wireless Video Streaming
The scalable video coding extension of H.265/high efficiency video coding is capable of supporting diverse video resolutions. Due to the fact that the enhancement layer (EL) is encoded and decoded with the aid of the base layer (BL), the decodability of ...

Physical Model of the Immune Response of Bacteria Against Bacteriophage Through the Adaptive CRISPR-Cas Immune System [PDF]
Bacteria and archaea have evolved an adaptive, heritable immune system that recognizes and protects against viruses or plasmids. This system, known as the CRISPR-Cas system, allows the host to recognize and incorporate short foreign DNA or RNA sequences,

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Zonal Machine Learning-Based Protection for Distribution Systems
Adaptive protection is defined as a real-time system that can modify the protective actions according to the changes in the system condition. An adaptive protection system (APS) is conventionally coordinated through a central management system located at
