Adaptive Reclosing Scheme for flexible Multi-Terminal DC Distribution Grid
2021 6th Asia Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ACPEE), 2021For flexible medium-voltage DC distribution grid based on overhead line, this paper proposes an adaptive reclosing scheme. First, the characteristic differences of capacitive coupling voltage between the instantaneous fault and the permanent fault are analyzed.

Communication-Aided High-Speed Adaptive Single-Phase Reclosing
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2013A new communication-aided high-speed single-phase reclosing algorithm is proposed in this paper for transposed transmission lines based on predicted and measured voltage of faulted phase. Analytical analysis based on the distributed line model is performed to derive an equation which can be used to predict the faulted phase voltage after arc extinction

Application of adaptive reclosers to automatic distribution systems
Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems, 2002This paper presents a discussion on several issues related to adaptive reclosers. It is shown, by using a realistic example, that adaptive reclosers should be installed in distribution systems with automatic switching capabilities in order to optimize their protective function. In particular, the case of primary circuits with automatic transfer systems

Research on Adaptive Reclosing of Distribution Network based on Signal Injection
2021 IEEE 4th Advanced Information Management, Communicates, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IMCEC), 2021Without discriminating the nature of faults, the traditional three-phase reclosing performs after set time, so the failure of reclosing will result in a secondary impact on the system. In order to avoid the damage of secondary impact caused by reclosing onto a permanent fault and increase the successful rate of reclosing, the application of adaptive ...

Adaptive single pole auto-reclosing using discrete wavelet transform
European Transactions on Electrical Power, 2010This paper proposes a new algorithm for adaptive single pole auto-reclosing (SPAR) using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). The faulted phase voltage signal is captured at a sampling rate of 2.5 kHz. The sym8 wavelet function is used to decompose the signal into level 1 and to define an index function (INDF), which is obtained from the sum of absolute ...

Adaptive Comprehensive Auto-Reclosing Scheme for Shunt Reactor-Compensated Transmission Lines
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019After a tripping of a transmission line, if the fault is transient, faulty arc may be extinguished in three different kind of periods: initial, middle and ending period. Existing adaptive auto-reclosing (AAR) schemes cannot cover all kind of situations, which seriously affects application of those AAR schemes.

Adaptation of superconducting fault current limiter to high-speed reclosing
Physica C: Superconductivity, 2009Abstract Using a high temperature superconductor, we constructed and tested a model superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). The superconductor might break in some cases because of its excessive generation of heat. Therefore, it is desirable to interrupt early the current that flows to superconductor.

Effect of adaptive reclosing on turbine-generator shaft torsional torques
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1994This paper presents the adaptive reclosing technique as a new concept to reduce the high torsional torques to which turbine-generator shafts might be subjected during high-speed reclosing of multi-phase power system faults. In this context, investigations have been conducted on a large turbine-generator model for various multi-phase faults.

Adaptive Three-Phase Reclosing of Distribution Network Using the Injected Signal
2020 10th International Conference on Power and Energy Systems (ICPES), 2020An adaptive three-phase reclosing strategy is proposed for distribution network, using the injected signal by putting additional power on secondary ports of the voltage transformer. After distribution network three-phase tripping, the strategy injects a voltage signal before reclosing time.

High speed adaptive auto reclosing of 765 kV transmission lines
2012 11th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2012This paper proposes a new adaptive auto reclosing scheme for extra high voltage transmission lines. The performance of an auto reclosing scheme depends not only on power system behavior and transmission lines characteristic but also secondary arc current.
