Adaptive Wireless Routing Protocols

2011 14th International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems, 2011
We developed an adaptive architecture for ad hoc communications to be used in adverse conditions. Our architecture includes a broadcast and a routing protocol that can self adapt to network conditions. We show that various combinations of our protocols provide the needed flexibility in extreme conditions.

Adaptive routing for tactical communications

MILCOM 2012 - 2012 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2012
We present a new approach to performing adaptive, loop-free, destination-based unicast forwarding in an IP-based network. The approach is an integration of several well-known techniques, including broadcast-based flooding, on-demand route discovery, and link state routing.

Adaptive job routing and scheduling

Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 2004
Computer systems are rapidly becoming so complex that maintaining them with human support staffs will be prohibitively expensive and inefficient. In response, visionaries have begun proposing that computer systems be imbued with the ability to configure themselves, diagnose failures, and ultimately repair themselves in response to these failures ...

Traffic Signal Adaptive Routing

2015 IEEE 18th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2015
The knowledge of future Signal Phase and Timing information (SPaT) of traffic lights ahead enables a vast number of driving assistance functions, such as Green Light Optimal Speed Control (GLOSA), Red Light Duration Advisory (RLDA) or Traffic Signal Adaptive routing (TSA routing).

Adaptive virtual circuit routing

Computer Networks and ISDN Systems, 1996
The paper deals with the adaptive routing problem in virtual circuit communication networks. A newly arriving call at a source node is routed along the minimum length path to its destination node. All packets belonging to this call follow the same path through the network. The superiority of a quadratic state-dependent routing algorithm to the shortest-

A Technique for Adaptive Routing in Networks

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1981
A two-level adaptive routing scheme for packet-switched computer communication networks is proposed and investigated. The first level is quasi-static and based on the global network status. The second level is dynamic with decisions being made at each node in an attempt to obtain the savings in average delay predicted by a multiserver model of the node.

Compressionless routing: a framework for adaptive and fault-tolerant routing

IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 1994
Compressionless Routing (GR) is a new adaptive routing framework which provides a unified framework for efficient deadlock-free adaptive routing and fault-tolerance. CR exploits the tight-coupling between wormhole routers for flow control to detect potential deadlock situations and recover from them. Fault-tolerant Compressionless Routing (FCR) extends

Hierarchical adaptive routing: a framework for fully adaptive and deadlock-free wormhole routing

Proceedings of 1994 6th IEEE Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing, 2002
Adaptive routing can improve network performance and fault-tolerance by providing multiple routing paths. However, the implementation complexity of adaptive routing can be significant, discouraging its use in commercial massively parallel systems. In this paper we introduce Hierarchical Adaptive Routing (HAR), a new adaptive routing framework which ...

Planar-adaptive routing

ACM SIGARCH Computer Architecture News, 1992
Network throughput can be increased by allowing multipath, adaptive routing. Adaptive routing allows more freedom in the paths taken by messages, spreading load over physical channels more evenly. The flexibility of adaptive routing introduces new possibilities of deadlock.
