Irreversible Adaptive Allocation Rules
Motivated by a scheduling problem arising from serial sacrifice experiments, the asymptotic efficiency of irreversible adaptive allocation rules is studied. The asymptotic lower bound for the regret of an adaptive allocation rule is characterized by the minimum of a linear program.

Generalized Adaptive Fuzzy Rule Interpolation [PDF]
As a substantial extension to fuzzy rule interpolation that works based on two neighbouring rules flanking an observation, adaptive fuzzy rule interpolation is able to restore system consistency when contradictory results are reached during interpolation. The approach first identifies the exhaustive sets of candidates, with each candidate consisting of

Peak-at-end rule: adaptive mechanism predicts time-dependent decision weighting
Humans make decisions under various natural circumstances, integrating multiple pieces of information that are distributed over space and time. Although psychophysical and physiological studies have investigated temporal dynamics underlying perceptual ...

Fuzzy Rule Based Adaptive Block Compressive Sensing for WSN Application
Transmission of high volume of data in a restricted wireless sensor network (WSN) has come up as a challenge due to high-energy consumption and larger bandwidth requirement. To address the issues of high-energy consumption and efficient data transmission

Rule Makers and Rule Takers: On Volkspartei Adaptation and Strategy [PDF]
The last three decades has seen a steady electoral decline in the Volksparteien, culminating in the historically low share of the vote garnered by the CDU/CSU and SPD in the 2009 federal election. Despite this low vote share, and the poor performance of the SPD in particular, this article argues that party system change has in many ways enhanced the ...

BELBIC for MRAS with highly non-linear process
Model Reference Adaptive Systems (MRASs) use mostly the traditional MIT rule based controllers to drive the difference (error) between the model reference signal and actual output one to zero value.

Modeling the Adaption Rule in Contextaware Systems
Context awareness is increasingly gaining applicability in interactive ubiquitous mobile computing systems. Each context-aware application has its own set of behaviors to react to context modifications. This paper is concerned with the context modeling and the development methodology for context-aware systems.

Adaptive water resource planning using decision-rules
Dealing with uncertainty in water resource planning is problematic because insufficient or underused infrastructure can have social and environmental costs. Multistage stochastic optimisation provides a mechanism to deal with this challenge in water supply capacity expansion planning.

Fuzzy rule: Based model reference adaptive control for PMSM drives [PDF]
The objective of the model reference adaptive fuzzy control (MRAFC) is to change the rules definition in the direct fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and rule base table according to the comparison between the reference model output signal and system output ...

Play-the-winner rule and adaptive designs of clinical trials
In another paper, we have argued that the traditional randomized design of clinical trials is ethically infeasible in desperate medical situations and adaptive designs are morally required.
